Our New Issue
The Summer 2025 issue is in the mail...
Hachi Chuku, Stasha Cole, and I are delighted to reveal the cover and contents of our Summer 2025 issue, which gathers poems and stories from around the world—from the tribal lands of Oklahoma and the streets of Manhattan, from modern-day Italy and Siglo de Oro Spain, from fifth-century India and contemporary Pakistan. In my note to the Winter 2025 issue, I vowed that, under my editorship, Nimrod would bring you “work that makes broad, deep, inventive use of the language, joyfully exploiting its resources,” and that we would be “especially receptive to writing that is in some way engaged with what has come before—not necessarily with any single, narrowly defined tradition, but with any of a wide range of cultural lineages.” My hope is that the issue our subscribers will soon be able to read in full—and which our Substack followers will be able to sample in the weeks ahead—makes good my promise. May every page surprise and inspire.
